hujan -deras (heavy rain= deluge),
Rainy season means one can't always time ones exercise to the dry weather times, no matter, running in the warm tropical rains sounds enjoyable and mostly it was. I like jogging in the hills behind our house through banana, papaya and rubber plantations. I always get lost on the little trails but its easy to find my way down because I locate my self by finding the volcanoes across he valley and then work my way down into the towns and up the main street toward the university we live next to. I forgot to consider what the hujan deras would do to the view of the mountains or what it would do to the little trials I was running on.
All I could see across the valleys was rain clouds and my fine trails became rivers. After panicking that dusk was setting in and I was lost on the hill( in NC this hill would be called a mountain) I was runnning on I did find the trail leading down to the villages that live on the hillside. However the trails were mud slides now and I feel repeatedly trying to get down. Fortunately I didn't hit any rocks when I fell, only soft mud. But when I got down o the villages I was a mess! The locals had a good time laughing at me as i ran by. i was so happy to have the villages I didn't mind the laughter. It was beautiful to run in the rain , not cold at all and really romantic in a literary sense of the word. I felt like Byron.
Tut just thought I was messy. That's all she could say when she saw me, "messy... messy!.... messy!!!....."
